First Fridays: Be Mo Jazz is proud to present the Arnold Sterling Jazz Ensemble

Arnold Sterling and Dr. Bill Clark began their musical journey together as youths in the 1950's in Baltimore City while, during this same period, Steve Novosel began his jazz musical journey in Farrell, Pennsylvania studying the trumpet at age 13.

Amongst the early Left Bank Jazz Society line ups you'll see their names listed. All three of these veteran musicians have performed with jazz royalty throughout their careers. In fact, they "are" jazz royalty and you'll be privileged to listen to them, along with their younger collaborators as they share jazz history through performance.

Arnold Sterling has a history of working with younger artists. For him it is a joy to mix "old school" improvisational, straight-ahead jazz with the new interpretations of the music that younger artists often offer.  Joining them are Muneer Nassar on trumpet who continues his family's jazz tradition established by his father bassist Jamil Nassar, Greg Boyer on trombone whose musical journeys have included R&B, Gospel, Reggae & House and Tiacoh Sadia on drums who first listened to jazz records as a youth in the Ivory Coast before establishing himself as a world-class jazz drummer in Europe. You will really enjoy this ensemble.
